Houston's Computer Museum
Many museums have been known for their exquisite display of the artifacts from the past that make the museum priceless. Security is always biffed up in such locations, heavily guarded by forces, with watchful eyes geared to the security cameras that constantly stare at the displays.
Museums in Houston are no different. They range from art galleries, to science museums, to historical based artifact museum, and to the new and upcoming computer museums. This day and age does not find much popularity with the computer museum. Many investors therefore do not concentrate on making business with such displays, thus is an open field in this city, dared to be infiltrated by just a few people.
Houston Computer Museum, a privately owned company is one such outstanding museum. It has soared up the ranks of museums, beating others that have had displays of the history of the computer age, from the 1st generation age to what we now know as the computer. Seeing as the computer age dates to as far as 3000BC, the museum has an outstanding task of gaining the collection of most of the computer processing related machinery in that wide range of time. One would be surprised to find the types of items that are on display in the museum as he/she walks through the collection. In the museum is displayed a range of more than 30000 artifacts known to the computer world, dating back to the times way beyond the invention of electricity. Some of the displays in the museum may include watches, counting instruments, calculators and video games that were made through time, for work purposes or even for entertainment.
The Mission The mission of this museum is to preserve in the most illusive way the history of the age of the computer. Many people have no idea where or how the idea computers came about. The display simply tells this story in a visual way. With a revenue of approximately $82000 per annum, the company does its best to give off the services related to this mission and is constantly focusing on getting more and more collections related to the history of the computer.
What is new? The Houston Computer company is preparing to display its new collection this fall. The company has been offline most of the past season, as it works day in and day out to give off one of its best launches yet. The title being "Revolution" the theme of the launch to be one that focuses on the past two thousand years that the computer age has been going through. It will therefore attractively display the many artifacts that are new to the audience, and also related to the revolution of the computer age. One of the only computer museums in the area of Houston has come to life. It brings together the past and the present world of the computers, making it vividly possible for any history or computer lover to view the walk through which these machines that we so often use passed through to reach our present world. |
