04/25/06-05/18/06 Received 5 cases of manuals from donor in CA., covering mainly IBM (mainframe) and Cray computers. Will have detailed listing later.
05/10/06 Received hp desktop VISUALIZE computer, hp 2340A, hp6000 SCSI SE, hp rack mount storage enclosure, software, and various cables from a TX donor. A more detailed list later with photos.
04/20/06 Received a RCA Cable modem used in the prototype production run from a IN. donor.
03/25/2006 Radio Shack TRS-80 model 1 with drives, software, manuals and other items. A TANDY 102 portable computer with portable floppy drive and other items. Over 200 items donated to the museum today for a Houston donor. More details later.
03/02/2006 Shipments of about 17 yards (51 feet) of old IBM mainframe related manuals, dating from 1960's to the 1990's, and about 8 feet of IBM source code microfiche starting arriving by UPS from donor in VA.
10/09/2005 A rental truck loaded with cases of books and many other items arrived from Boulder CO, will list items at a later date.
08/29/2005 Received four boxes of computer magazines dating from the 1970's to 1980's from a donor in OR. Included are complete sets of Creative Computing, On Computing, Popular Computing, SCCS Interface, Interface Age, and Byte.
08/12/2005 Received a signed copy of J. E. Thornton's "Design of a Computer The Control Data 6600" in the mail from a donor in CO.
06/18/2005 Picked up over 70 items dated from the 1950's to 1970's in Austin Texas. There were items from a System/360 model 25, System/34, and UNIVAC computers. Have to make a third trip soon to finish getting all the items donated.
05/04/2005 A total of 73+ items were picked up from a local donor and included the following. Commodore PET 64 model 4064 (not the Educational 64), 3-PET 4032's, PET 2001-8 the first model with the built-in cassette unit, 2-PET 2001 Series 32B, Pet model 4010 Voice Response unit, printers, dual disk drives, cassette drives, spare keyboards, chips, laptops, and many other items.
02/14/2005 Delivered from CO a LCD-286 Portable computer and a Commodore SX-64 both in working order.
12/04/2004 Picked up 151 different items from a previous donor mostly Apple stuff with some PC items. A boxed (original box) Apple 7100/80 and a Umax tower (Apple clone) were the bigger items. - Some of the other items were boxes of new/old unopened software, tape back-up systems, many different cables, various power cords, cassette back-up tapes, books, and manuals.
11/06/2004 IBM System/34 5340, IBM 5211-2 High Speed Printer, MAI/IBM 548 Punch card Interpreter with one programming board, 3-IBM 5251 Terminals, 2-IBM 5251 Keyboards, 44-Manuals, 11-8" Diskettes with Diagnostic on them, Datacard cabinet with several card decks inside (compilers, programs, etc.) - Boy this CPU unit is one big monster, it took two of us 30 minutes using a come-along to pull it up the ramp into the truck and this is not counting the time it took to move it from his living room (on carpet) to the kitchen door (we had to remove the kitchen door). I forgot to take pictures before we loaded the truck on Saturday but got some Sunday morning of the items in the truck and will put them on the website later. Sorry to say the 548 Interpreter was damaged during the drive back from Austin but I hope with help we can get it back in shape and running. Any old IBM repair guys out there that can fix this unit or have technical manuals for it, please contact us at info@houstoncomputermuseum.org.
10/12/2004 Mits Altair 8800 Rev. A - This unit is still in kit form (almost) and needs to be completed, the following boards came with it. Mits 8800 1k Static Memory Board Rev. 0; Polymorphic Video card Rev. 00; and Mits CPU BD Rev. 0. We also got one Mits 8800 M/BD Rev. 1 with it. Pictures to follow.
10/11/2004 IBM 029 Keypunch machine - Shipped from Colorado (Eco-Cycle donated it) using Eagle Global Logistics (in-kind donation) for shipping more later as it's unpacked. Pictures to follow.
